Website © 2024 SADLEIR technical consultancy Ltd
SADLEIR technical consultancy Ltd currently maintains 3 Internet domains: sadleir.co.uk, sadleir.uk and sadleir.com.
Our site includes a number of links to the sites of other organisations, which we consider to be of potential interest to our own visitors. While, in principle, we link only to sites and organisations of first-class standing, the inclusion of any link on this site cannot be construed as an unqualified endorsement of the target site or of its publisher, the information or views expressed thereat; nor can the Company accept any responsibility in respect of its visitors' re-direction to that site.
There is no code on our site pages to launch ‘pop-ups’ or other automatic re-direction to third-party sites. If such elements appear when viewing our site, system administrators are advised to review local network security arrangements and to check for the presence of parasitic software. (For further assistance click here.)
The Company supports in principle the maintenance of internet rating standards designed to restrict the dissemination of potentially offensive content. We endeavour to keep the SADLEIR technical consultancy website free of any material likely to cause offence, or to necessitate any restriction as to viewing. Content self-rating META tags have hitherto been included on our front pages, as a convenience to visitors whose browsers' content control configurations might be set to restrict viewing of unrated sites. However, with the discontinuation of support for the ICRA® labelling scheme, and W3C®'s abandonment of the PICSTM specification, those metadata have been removed. It is intended in due course to compile and publish XML Description Resources for our website based on the W3C® POWDER recommendations.
Following the recommendations of W3C® and IETF, our website content is now delivered entirely using the https: secure transport protocol (except to Internet Explorer 8 and earlier), with an SSL certificate providing assurance of identity and protection against injected malicious code.
We take seriously our professional duty of confidentiality to clients and others. Contact details, as obtained via e-mails or contact form submissions, may be used only for business-to-business contact, and will never be disclosed to third parties.
Our website includes a certain amount of our own JScript (JavaScript) code, to enhance the visual functionality of some pages. None of this code will in any way modify the configuration of visitors' own systems, or extract information as to visitors' identities or addresses, other than by the deliberate and conscious intervention of the visitor (e.g. “favorites” bookmarking link).
We do not make use of ‘cookies’, web bugs or spyware in any form.
We maintain a high level of vigilance in respect of viruses and similar malware, and every effort is made to ensure that all outgoing files, whether offered for download from our website or despatched by e‑mail, are from a virus-clean environment. We use only reputable providers for our internet domain, e‑mail and web hosting; and all outgoing e‑mail has SPF and DKIM headers. All visitors are strongly recommended, nonetheless, to maintain their own appropriate levels of protection for all received and downloaded material, and for network security generally. We have, on several occasions, intercepted potentially harmful code on inbound e‑mail from reputable correspondents, who were initially unaware of its despatch.
Please note also that many e-mail worms can ‘spoof’ their originating address. We cannot, of course, control such material falsely purporting to be from us. Where appropriate, we will authenticate outgoing e‑mail with a certified digital ID.
We use ZoneAlarm® firewall and virus protection software from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.
If required, CV and other files can be despatched by e-mail under digital security certification. Those wishing to communicate with us by secure e-mail should request a digitally signed e-mail from us, incorporating our public encryption key
.For project collaboration, we also maintain our own secure document sharing and exchange facility, powered by ProjectSend.
The constant - but not always consistent - evolution of technical standards for web code authoring may result in some of our pages not rendering as elegantly as they might in your chosen browser. Our pages have been designed to work best in Edge®, by reason of its widespread use, but will also render well in Chrome®, Firefox® and later versions of Internet Explorer®. We have done our best to allow for the idiosyncrasies of earlier versions of IE in their implementation of certain features of HTML and CSS. However, general conformity with published coding standards appears to be improving in newer versions of the popular browsers; and we shall be progressively revising our pages to ensure conformity with current HTML and CSS standards. In the meantime, we trust that any presentational shortcomings will not detract from visitors' enjoyment of the site.
As of August 2015, the site has been extensively re-coded to make use of PHP® server-side preprocessing.
Work is in hand to enable more convenient rendering of our pages on hand-held media devices, although the nature of the content is such that we will still recommend at least a tablet-sized screen for optimum readability.
Our web and mail servers are IPv6‑enabled.

Every effort has been made in the compilation of this website to ensure the accuracy of its content, which is offered in good faith but for information only and without liability on the Company's part.
